This seems to be most prudent location,

stumbled about to a private photo album about Helsinki Malmi airfield scanned in imgur. Enjoy! There are Fokker D.XXI's, Junkers G.38, Hitler's Condor and pretty Finnish ladies from the era!

Thanks HR, great set, the captures soviet types are interesting.

I also loved the airport building but then I loved the architecture in Finland generally when I was there a long time ago.

Why do they pull the ropes to make the aircraft stand on the nose? Use it for oild drilling? Or a special kind of monument?

They all booked a flight in the Junkers G 38. The flight was pretty overbooked, as it seems:

Is the the Myrsky prototype? Retractable undercarriage, but strutted horizontal tailfin:

Thanks very much for the pictures,

and regards, RT

And RT, that is MY-1, prototype and first plane. Regarding the "Fokkerus Erectus", it seems they are creating a "Fliegerdenkmal" maybe as a warning for further pilots?

Its a Fokker Auto-erectus and it's guided back to proper position as a simple flip would bend the rear fuselage.
