Hi Lightning,

of course one can only feel very flattered hearing words like the ones you chose. What I said before also had the purpose to make clear that even if I keep on being silent, I am not off and away, but I am thinking about new topics...

We all know that this forum requires quite a good level of quality. To persistently keep up with this, I think it's better to care that also the single contributions don't change quality for quantity. So I ask for understanding if it happens that I am not writing on a regular base.

Best regards, RT

After ten years, I mean to provide just three more pictures. *Lord Kitchener* has them in his Flickr account.

The C.690, a trainer (not mentioned in the main text):

The C.710:

And the C.760:

Caudron-Renault C.714, pretty much useless, Finnish AF received six (France donated 80 during Winter War), they were quickly relegated to training and almost as fast grounded, deemed unsafe to fly.

Polish squadron used these during battle of France and got some victories over Luftwaffe, surprisingly.

That's no hard thing to do. I have a list, and sooner or later the next aircraft on it will be served. Nobody here ever urged me to work faster, so I can do it whenever I want.

Caudron-Renault C.714, pretty much useless, ... deemed unsafe to fly.

Greg did not include the C.714 in his wish list, so I wrote nothing about it here. What does not mean it should not be mentioned in whatever way. To be "great", an aircraft doesn't need to be successfull or even beautiful. In fact, especially GOT deals with aircraft which +/- did not prevail, for whatever reasons, maybe design flaws, maybe just adverse conditions. From this family of aircraft, quite a couple more could receive a description, remember the C.460 record plane, of which a beautiful blue replica was created (I mean Greg having said he once already sat in it). Thanks for the video link!

I agree that this is a hot looking family of planes. As in that video was said that good racing planes do not usually make good fighter planes.

Anyway, the remaining Finnish C.R.714 is now in Krakow, Poland and being restored:

Usually the reasons of why something fails is more interesting than why something is succesful...

Not a good looker or a good performer, but strangely interesting nevertheless. For me I discovered this aircraft via a model kit...
