Reviving this from the deep recesses.
Have you had any further success with your enquiry about the Lancaster lost on 2nd March 1943?

You have incorrect information about the serial number of the Lancaster. It was a 207 Squadron Lancaster Mk I with Merlin 20 engines. Serial Number: ED533. Coded: EM-N. Operation: Gardening. 2nd / 3rd March 1943.

Airborne 18:33 2nd Feb 1943 from Langar to lay mines in French waters. Presumed lost over the sea. Sgt Brown, whose body was washed ashore 27th May 1943, is buried in the Department of Basses Pyrenees at Biarritz du Sabrou Communal Cemetery. The others have no known graves. F/O Bisset was a Graduate from Aberdeen University.
Sgt R. Isaacs KIA; Sgt R. Brown KIA; F/O G.A. Bisset KIA; F/Sgt K.G. Peters KIA; Sgt W.O. Shelley KIA; Sgt J.W. Webster KIA and F/O F.B. Hawkins RAAF KIA.

As you can see, Sergeant Brown was aboard this aircraft and not W4825 which was a 97 Squadron aircraft when lost the same night on Berlin.

I trust this is new info to you.

Unfortunately a young chap whose great uncle was on W4825 has obviously seen that it apparently crashed near Biarritz (when attacking Berlin!!) and couldn't understand what was happening.

Hi Eric
your message about the Lancasters lost 28 April 1943. My mother's brother Don Park was on Lancaster ED728 lost on 28th April 1943, and are buried in Biarritz.
What information do you still require ?

That posting by Eric DUPRE was made over eight years ago, and, at that time, he had made a total of only four postings. He also never responded to the three answers given to his posting. It is quite possible that he left our forum and never checked back to see whether any new information on his question had surfaced. I'm sure, had he been aware of your response, he would have found it very enlightening.

As it is, you have shown that your uncle's sacrifice has not been forgotten.

Please feel free to post on our forum at any time. (You are, after all, one of us now.) The people here are very knowledgeable, and they are always willing to help with any questions you may have.

Best regards,
