Hi all
(I'm back from my vacations [8D])
wondered if anyone knew (and maybe played) this game

War in The Pacific (http://www.warinthepacific.net/) from MatrixGames

It's a hex-based turn-based strategy wargame... It actually can reproduce all the Pacific WWII conflict (with aero naval battles and land campaigns). It's really detailed, but really long to play (actually PBEM can last a very long time, given that 1 turn represents 1 day, and it's difficult to achieve more than one turn per day...

Anyone plays it?

if you wanna fly the planes with any sort of realisem get this http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0002AL1YW.01-A1AJVWO2HMT2XY._SCMZZZZZZZ_.gifthis uses the il-2/FB sim engine the il-2/ FB series is by far the best and with PF when you want to add the europe and russian front this will integrate with them, this is the best , there is no doubt that the il-2 FB/ PF series is the best.
Get a good joystick, add some foot peddels(if you dont want to spend $300 to get all you need a good stick will also twist and that will act as the vert stab) and man your set

Well, I've just started a PBEM game as the Allies and I find it very interesting! Only drawback is the TIME that such a huge simulation requires: you figure out, every turn of the simulation represents 1 day... So if you play 1 turn per day, you will likely to finish your game in YEARS :D And the planning is really tricky, it's not easy to command air, land and naval forces involved in combat on the various theaters.
