The Dornier 17 was a medium bomber with a top speed of roughly 265mph and a maximum bomb load of 1000kg (Do17Z-2). The bomber was the second fastest of the trio of German medium bombers. The Dornier was usually armed with 3-4 7.92mm MG 81 machine guns but the bombers were often upgraded in the field or in the factory, usually one or two MG 81s were added.
