Two weeks ago RAF Museum Cosford got a new exhibit, an MH-53 Pave Low helicopter that was generously donated by the USAF. It was delivered on an RAF C-17 and currently resides round the back before being going on show sometime in the spring. The C-17 is a rather large aircraft but had no problems landing on Cosford's rather short runway (though they did operate Vulcans and Victors from it). Unfortunately I was just leaving as it took off so I didn't get any pictures though it was fairly stunning with a high ascent angle to clear the embankment at the end of the runway. There are a fair few pics above.

Hey RA,

is this AFB near Wantage? I was there and joined the school in Wantage for while in March/April 2003. The (host) family´s sons, the father and I made a trip for one day to it, coz there were B-52s, which was quite amazing to see them for the first time and in nature ;)
