Wow - I have never seen a photo of a Ju 87 with its wings folded.
There is supposed to be an air to air photo of a Ju 87 C, taking part in the Polish campaign, which had fired the explosive bolts in anticipation of ditching and then regained control. Making for a very weird profile! Anyone seen it?

The Ausonia is interesting, a double hanger and island when the RN was still not sure what was needed in terms of islands.

I have seen a photo of a Ju-87 flying without its 'legs', but the caption did not really explain it. I'll try to find it, I know it is in one of my books somewhere...

I think its fluke rather than anything else. The RN had actually done considerable research on getting towards a successful aircraft carrier as opposed to sticking some flat bits on a merchant vessel.

Which they also did quite a bit, and rather successfully!
