we know most of this aircraft series CW,
but only four designs I don't know them,
CW-26,CW-28,CW-30 and CW-31.
CAN ANYONE IDENTIFY THEM ?.

Hi Hesham,

I don't think Curtiss-Wright produced any aircraft of these designations.

1)I have never heard of them (not a very good reference!)
2) They don't show up in any of my books as far as I can remember, and I LOVE obscure types.
3) I get no hits at all on the internet.

I have never heard that Curtiss-Wright had an obsession to stick with the CW designation either.

The last Curtiss aircraft, as far as I know, was the ill-fated and poorly-designed XF-87 Blackhawk (or XP-87) of 1948, and the company withdrew from military aircraft competition after that. They are still around and making things .. just not complete airplanes.

In the Putnam book "Curtiss Aircraft 1907-1947" are just the CW-(...)/25/27/29 that you know, with no extra list…

Among obscure Curtiss-Wright types, I have been happy to discover the very beautiful Curtiss-Wright P-248-01 (CW-21B “Demon” with in-line Allison engine) in the booklet Unknown No.4 (still sold at http://www.luft46.com/rd/rdreams.html I cannot post a scan).
