I've received some documents from one of my friends. They are from German archives. Can anybody help me to translate them to English (better to Russian, of course:D:D)?

Rough and ready solution.

Scan the docs. Run the scans through OCR software - Simple OCR is freeware available for download on the web but beware the GIGO principal - get the clearest scans you can. Then convert it to a MS Word doc and you can then copy and paste to an online translator such as Babelfish to convert the German text to your preffered language. The results will be pretty rough in terms of linguistic accuracy but you'll get the gist of the articles.

You can purchase much better OCR and Translation software than what's available on the web but some of it is pricey.

Since I am German and never had problems to spread one of my private mail addresses here (the private mail function here didnīt work in the past), I16, please send everything you like to coridano@aol.com. Sorry, I donīt speak Russian, only English.

Itīs only that I am very busy (the number of GOT topics suffers, I know), but I shall do my best.

Regards, RT

I've got both of the products you've named. In our country full of "pirates' production" it's not a problem ;) But it will be a bit tricky to perform both of the operations. At first, some of the words in JPGs are badly printed and their angle is not 90 deg. At second, I'm absolute zero in German and won't be able to translate or reinterpret phrases untranslated by a soft. Anyway, thanks for advice.
